The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley has a student population of 28,000+ students. The university was established in 2013 by combining two previous universities and now has over 100 buildings in 6 different locations along the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Campus

  • Some of the student services available at UTRGV Counselling and Mental Health Services, Health Services, Student Food Pantry, Recreation facilities, on-campus housing, parking facilities, etc.
  • UTRGV accommodates a number of student-run organizations, some of the STEM-related student organizations include the American Medical Student’s Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Astronomy Club and much more.

Residence

  • The university offers on-campus accommodation to its students. The residence halls available at Edinburg include The Heritage, Troxel and Unity Residence Halls. Village Apartments are also available at Edinburg. The Brownsville Campus offers housing at the Casa Belle Apartments.
  • All students are provided with a single bed, desk and chair, chests of drawers and built-in closets. Rooms also have the facilities of air conditioning, Wi-Fi access, and cable connectivity.

Financial Aid for International Students

  • Undergraduate and graduate international students at UTRGV can avail of a number of scholarships to aid their study. Most scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need and to ethnic minorities in the USA.
  • The International Student Financial Aid is a need-based scholarship of the amount of 1,000 USD. Students are required to submit all necessary documents within April 30 to be eligible.
