Important Note for International Students:

  • International students need to purchase a new sim; they can opt for either the big 3 cell phone providers or small ones. The Big 3 are Bell, Rogers, and Telus. They are expensive, offer more comprehensive plans, and set various contracts, while small ones are Koodo, Wind Mobile, Virgin Mobile, and Freedom. PGWP:

  • After completion of the degree, international students can apply for a PGWP (Post-graduation work permit), which can allow students to work and live in Canada.
  • Some programs are not eligible for PGWP (Students should check it before admission). There are some conditions to be eligible for PGWP, they are: an international student admitted into a minimum of 8 months of a program from a designated learning institute, and enrolled in a full-time program.
  • If the duration of the program is less than 2 years, then students are eligible for PGWP for the same duration as that of the program; if the duration of the program is more than 2 years, then students are eligible for 3 years of PGWP.
  • International students can work part-time for 24 hours per week during term days at off-campus jobs, while there is no restriction on the number of hours if an international student is working at on-campus jobs and during vacation at off-campus jobs.
